About Home Network

Hi There! Thanks for visiting my website. I am a professional computer network engineer with decades of experience. Don’t let this mis-lead yo! I’m not just a nerdy guy. I’m also a husband, a father, a cancer survivor, and once when I was cool, a motorcycle mechanic. But really, mostly a geek.

A little more about myself. I love all things mechanical or scientific, (not just cars and bikes). Most new technologies are well over my head, but I really enjoy reading about emerging technologies and sciences. It gets my gears spinning. I love DIY. Small construction projects, gardening, art… Often these interests merge and meld into one overall ball of confusion. But, that is me.

Over the years of my professional journey it was always a challenge to find information on computer technology that was framed in a simple, straight forward, not overly technical, that ultimately helped solve the problem or answer the question at hand. Rather, often articles were overly simplified, missing some basic steps, or so over the top with technical jargon that either became useless and unreadable. And some even worse… written by a company looking to simply sell you an unneeded upgrade as a resolution to the problem. The best and most helpful information I could locate would often be buried, deep in the archives of community posts and pages, but not formatted to be used as a guide. They often still required industry knowledge to understand the content.

A free website that provides straight forward instructions, guides, and reviews for computers, software applications, internet access, WIFI, and security for the home or even micro businesses is something I have always wanted to see, but never really found. Don’t get me wrong, There are great websites on the internet that provide excellent reviews and help guides. Often these websites are really designed for the computer hobbyist.

Here at HomeNetworkSMB.com I will attempt to post articles and how-to guides that are easy to read while providing enough detail to be helpful. The computer hobbyist or the industry expert might find the upcoming posts of this site interesting, but the site is more intended for the home office worker, the mobile worker, the student trying to keep their computer secure. Maybe you came here wanting to know how to support multiple streaming devices, game systems, mobile phones, VPN for your job, and still have a fast internet… Or, maybe you are the person that just wants to know how to keep their microwave from kicking them off their WIFI! In that case, I hope this website finds you well.

At HomeNetworkSMB.com I will post articles With topics covering; Improving and troubleshooting WIFI networks inside the home. How to improve security of your computer or home network equipment. Reviews on computer network equipment designed for the home. Opinions on programs and applications. Sometimes just sharing technical industry knowledge. And possibly, maybe, occasionally, a poem or two?

Ok, I’m sure a couple posts might just be poems… about computers… or venting frustration with technology… lol. Remember, I’m a bit of a geek. Oh!… Wait!… Maybe?… If a reader sends a poem, (about computers), those might get posted too! That could be fun!?

I’ll post one article every month. Please send your suggestions, comments, tips or tricks, poems…, or even just funny stories about dealing with home computer problems. Use the Contact page to send emails or subscribe. Your suggestions will be considered for topics of future posts, clarifications on previous posts, or sharing great ideas.

Cheers!
